Life Groups

The Life Group gives us an opportunity to meet together to study God’s Word, pray, and hold each other accountable as men and women growing in our relationships with Jesus Christ. This meets every Thursday at 6pm in the cafe at Maywood. In addition to the general life group, there is also a Guys Bible Study that meets every Sunday night at 8pm. Feel free to come out on Thursdays or contact Jeff Berg (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to get connected with one of our life groups.

We regularly offer events to help build relationships with each other through hanging out or serving. Watch for details about upcoming events on our Facebook page, the weekly church program, or on this page.

Lifeway Christian Resources for Women

 Rockford Rescue Mission

Women’s Weekly Bible Study

Every Monday women from Maywood take turns conducting a Bible study with the women from Rockford Rescue Mission’s Life Recovery Group at the mission.

Current Study:  Luke

Women’s Life Recovery Quarterly Lunch and Game Day

Women of Maywood provide a quarterly women’s luncheon and devotional at the Rockford Rescue Mission.   After lunch we play games in the activity room, giving the women an opportunity to interact and minister to one another.

Spring Banquet:

Annual Spring Banquet with guest speaker held at the Rockford Rescue Mission.   The women of Maywood also provide a small gift for the ladies at the mission.

October Birthday Party

Held on the 3rd Tuesday in October at Fairhaven Nursing Home.  Women of Maywood provide quick breads for the residents of Fairhaven.  We also conduct a short musical program.

December Cookie Bake

On the first Saturday of December, the women of Maywood host women and their children at the church.  We have a lunch, have a separate devotional for both the women and children, have a Christmas song sing-a-long and provide a small gift and boxes in which to take their cookies home.

Sunday morning groups here at Maywood have as our emphasis 2 Timothy 3:16-17:

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Each group aims to teach us how to become better disciples of Christ in all aspects of life.

Part of the DNA of Maywood is life groups; people long to connect to life-changing communities where they can be transformed and empowered to serve Christ and His kingdom. The purpose of our Life Groups Ministry is to develop deeper Christian relationships through prayer, accountability, encouragement and fellowship.

Our church has two primary types of life groups:

1) Community - centered around Christian relationships

2) Ministry - centered around a certain affinity
