Gary's Bio

Responsible for leadership and oversight of the pastoral and professional staff and oversight of the administrative and business affairs of the church. He is responsible to ensure implementation of the church vision, mission, and core values. He is involved in teaching, preaching, and the shepherding needs of the flock. Also serves on the Elder Council and Deacon Board.

Gary E. Kniseley, Executive Pastor

Pastor Gary Kniseley grew up in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He is a graduate of Maranatha Baptist Bible College where he earned a B.S. in Church Ministries/Bible. He is also a graduate of Moody Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Ministry and a Master of Divinity (magna cum laude). He desires to preach and teach the Word of God as God’s final authority that provides answers for changing lives and times. He enjoys counseling, particularly pre-marital counseling. He longs to see the church be all that it should be for the glory of God through evangelism and discipleship. He desires to live and die shepherding the flock of God.

Before coming on staff at Maywood in January 2005, he owned his own business for approximately ten years. Pastor Gary and his family were a part of the Maywood family prior to coming on the pastoral staff. Gary is married to Adina and is blessed with two sons (Ethan, and Ross). Gary enjoys partnering with his wife whenever possible in ministry—as a team of two.

In his spare time, Pastor Gary enjoys skeet shooting, kayaking, fishing, hunting, skiing, family vacations, and special date nights with his wife.
